In case we haven't met, I'm Skye Deutschbein, and prior to November 2018 this was my family. Thank you for finding your way to this online space - a place where I desire to gather hearts who seek to connect to real, authentic stories of life. I believe everyone has a story worth telling - we can all learn so much from each other. The stories found on these pages are from my own life. Thursday the 29th November 2018 is a date that has drawn a line in the sand of our family's life - our 'before' life, and our 'after' life. On this day, my much loved husband of 19 years, and father to our (then) 9 and 7 year old daughters, died suddenly and tragically in a mountaineering accident in New Zealand. A trap door opened beneath my feet that day, and sent me spiralling deep into a dark, unknown, terrifying, agonising, and lonely reality. I was 40 years old. I am no longer the women that I was. Every way I once viewed the world and this thing called "LIFE" has shifted - I wear new glasses. I am now discovering what's left of me, and us, as the fog of grief and trauma changes and shifts. And I cling to this truth: life may not look the same, but hope can still be found.

I hope these pages provide a window into finding a way forward, when life becomes something you no longer recognise. And perhaps, if you know someone who may benefit from hearing real stories, you can point them in this direction. Thank you for being here. Much love, Skye xxx
